Thank You for the invitation Hoist! (I left an intro at the door!)

Howie PM'd me early that the site went up.  I found it later that evening and have been trying to get here since.

It was truly a warm welcome? to see you guys asking where I was, which made it real difficult cause I couldn't get logged in to respond.  I got up before 3am today and put a real effort to get this thing off.  I thought the SMF had it in for me due to the other planet experience.  And I was going to call Howie to tell him about the difficulties if I couldn't get thru at this attempt.

That being said:

A few of you have your own 'Issues", so bring them on!  Just remember like Howie said, "I talk a lot" and my one finger is just about worn out sending these msg's.

If that guy with the 07 Springer that posted on the other planet just before the LOCK UP finds his way here, and you guys get down on him, I will personally stand on your toes in your face and tell you "You will have a hard time explaining how a 61 yr old man kicked your F*&+ing A++!  But just before that, I have to get back to working out on my home gym?  Its been about 3 seasons since I stopped an involved schedule, which I feel needs some real attention.  I have to get away from the walker I got for Christmas.  Got the Center Line grips on it!

OK the bad news.  STSSE went down the easy way?  Was 75 in PA here yesterday, and needed a test ride to see how the rib would take the abuse.  No Problem.  I was at a traffic light way back in line, making a left turn, and as I approached my turn I saw a rider (H-D) like a deer in the headlamps, opposite me across the street checking me out.  OK Pal, you look like you read the Blog so eat this, cranked the throttle to @ 5500? and backed off as hard as I went into it.  Got my bike back to my storage area for the winter (friends complex) and noticed a shadow on the rear cyl fins.  Blew my rear gasket, oil!  Have to get the recall done way before I planned.

My analogy: (I know you guys hate this Tongue) I got on this bike hard like other times, but this time when I backed off, it was a little different on compression-ing down.  I tend to think I sucked the gasket in not blowing it out, if that's at all possible?

I'm going back to bed, after 3-4 beers, I need to get up in a couple of hours to make coffee so I can deal with your crap sometime today !

Hey Howie,

God I hope the weather is good that weekend.  I really want to test the new gaskets, 3rd rear tire.  And want to see someone shove their camera up their Butt after they take the gig card out.

A drag race sure, but only if you are riding a slightly used 600cc sport bike.

Met a great guy (Paratrooper, Patriotic, etc) outside of our local H-D store, riding a Ninja 600cc.  He was there to get touch-up paint to see if the 2003 Anniv. color would work for his 67 Roadrunner he was restoring. Can't remember why I was there, because I really don't like the place other than the poor slaves that work there.  Oh yeah, I went for a ft turn signal light that they didn't have in stock.  So I got one for a car and it slightly burned the inside of the lenses.  Just a warning, but maybe they are brighter?  2for $3, or 1 for $5 if they even had one.

Which reminds me, that I bought some engine touch-up last year, and didn't use it.  Didn't trust the way he looked when he found it in the book.  Found out a while back on the other planet there is no paint on the engine or trans.  Typical for us locals.  Don't even get me started when they were forcing wheel bearing grease on me for my steering neck.  I have the manual and specifically states 'Multipurpose'!  They said they would have to buy a case just to sell me one.  Jesus !  Let me let them have my bike to service.  You can practice on my 1/500.  I figure the stress dynamics of the Springer are much different than any other neck anyway.  Just look at that thing ! Yes, I clean grease of my engine often enough.

We spent some time riding together this past summer.  You know how it is, a little sprint here, a little there, before you know it, OK, when the light changes!  Denny became a believer last summer.  He won some, I won most.

I caught Denny starring at my bike at times when we hadn't had a beer yet!  "If I had a Harley, it would be that one there!"  Kind of what I thought the first time I saw it.

I rode into town one day and saw a couple of rice burners a light ahead of me, which became 2 lights because of the timing, they sprinting from light to light.  Well, there was this long stretch between the next light and I caught up to them.  At a full stop I thought, lets make them eat rotten sushi.  At the next light when the first guy pulled up next to me in the other lane, he couldn't stop bobbing his head like one of those dolls.

You got a 600 I'll take you on!  "Howie you are Godly, but not the Catholic Priest across the street!"

Jack, first off welcome to the site.  I didn't pile on on your other planet as the pig pile seemed a useless exercise but it sure got everyone twisted up.

I gotta tell ya man, you may be a brotha from anotha motha to me.  You got me by a couple years, but if you don't have the same mental age (15-19)as me I'll eat my rear tire.  My wife gives me chit everytime she rides with me about just being a kid in a man's body.

Don't ever lose that enthusiasm for life Thumbs Up  Oh and screw the home gym program and spend your time riding, it'll be way more better spent.

Cantankerous Old Man now that we have @ 800 miles on the recall and a new set of tires, I can say that the rattle under the rocker box is definitely gone.  And the new rear tire seems to have more grip, but also took Howies advice and dropped the rear tire pressure after initial rides..  But I think they have reprogramed the engine and or have lost some rpm's to rev limiter.  Still have more riding to do to get a real feel for it.  I feel gas quality is still fluctuating.

Been raining a lot around Central PA and riding has been nil lately.  Stay tuned

A belated welcome to you, Jack!   Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Do you know if they just dropped a stock map in the ECM before you got your bike back?  Might explain the rev limiter issue you describe.
